We are getting married at the Medley Walled Garden, Medley Manor Farm, Binsey Lane, Oxford, OX2 0NJ. For those of you who are familiar with Oxford, the venue is in Binsey, next to Port Meadow and the river.

 

Oxford is accessible by train, bus and car. Please be aware that there is a complete road closure (with only pedestrian access) between the train station and Botley Road due to ongoing engineering works, which on current estimates will still be in place by the time of our wedding.

 

By train

 

If you plan to travel to Oxford by train, the venue is approximately 30 minutes’ walk or a short taxi ride from Oxford train station. In light of the road closure, we would recommend getting a taxi from the Holly Bush pub, approximately 7 minutes’ walk from the train station. Taxis from there will be around £10. You can also get one from the station, but because they have to drive a long way round to avoid a road closure the cost will be more like £18.

 

By car

 

To get to the venue by car, enter Oxford via Botley Road to the west (there is no access to the venue by car from the city centre!). Turn left on to Binsey Lane. Cross a small one-lane bridge and continue for around 1km / 0.7 miles, and then turn right down a small track - Patrick and Jon will be there to help point the way! Parking will be on the right at the end of the track.

 

Please note that parking is not permitted on Binsey Lane or on the track approaching the venue.

 

There is also a Park and Ride option at Seacourt (West Oxford) or, if you need parking with an electric charging point, the Westgate Centre is a good option (but note the new congestion charge for driving into central Oxford).

By bike

 

The venue is about 12 minutes from the City Centre / 8 minutes from the railway station / 10 minutes from the Park and Ride at Seacourt (West Oxford). From the station, walk your bike through the pedestrian access to Botley Road, then continue along the main road for about 300m. Turn right onto Binsey Lane. Cross a small one-lane bridge and continue for around 1km / 0.7 miles, and then turn right down a small track where Patrick and Jon will be helping to guide you. Parking will be on the right at the end of the track. Remember lights for the way home!

Walking

 

If you are staying in central Oxford or the Jericho area, you can also arrive at the venue via a pleasant walk across Port Meadow - there is an arched bridge next to the venue to cross the river, and a back gate that will bring you in right next to the ceremony area (this is our planned arrival route!). Allow around 25 minutes from Little Clarendon Street.
